Reverse Osmosis Drinking Water Systems in Delray Beach & Boca Raton
Filtered drinking and cooking water from a dedicated faucet at your kitchen sink. Clearview installs and services under-sink reverse osmosis systems, including refrigerator and ice maker connections.
What a Reverse Osmosis System Is
Reverse osmosis (RO) uses household water pressure to push water through a semi-permeable membrane. Most residential systems have several stages: a sediment filter, a carbon filter, the RO membrane, and a final "polishing" filter. Filtered water is held in a small storage tank (or produced on demand by a tankless RO unit) and delivered through its own faucet.
RO is a point-of-use system. It is meant for the water you drink and cook with, not the whole house. If you want treated water at every tap, see whole-house water filtration.
What RO Can and Cannot Do
RO systems are designed to reduce a broad range of dissolved solids, and many homeowners choose them for drinking water taste. Actual performance depends on the specific system, its certification, your water, and how well it is maintained. When comparing systems, look for third-party certification to NSF/ANSI Standard 58 and review the product's performance data sheet. We will show you that information rather than make general claims.
RO also has trade-offs: it produces water slowly, sends some water to the drain as part of normal operation, and works best with adequate water pressure. Low pressure means slower production, and some homes benefit from a booster pump.
Common RO Problems We Fix
- Slow flow or a storage tank that never seems full
- Water running to the drain constantly
- Taste or odor returning, usually filters past due
- Drips at the faucet, tank, or tubing connections
- Refrigerator or ice maker lines that are kinked or poorly connected
How Clearview Installs Reverse Osmosis
- Space check: we confirm room under the sink for the filter housings and tank, or recommend a compact tankless unit.
- Faucet: the dedicated faucet can use an existing sink hole or a new countertop hole. Let us know your countertop material ahead of time.
- Drain connection: the system's drain line connects to your sink drain with the correct fitting and air gap.
- Supply and shutoff: a dedicated cold-water connection with its own shutoff.
- Fridge and ice maker: optional tubing run to your refrigerator.
- Start-up: we flush the system, check every fitting for leaks, and explain the filter schedule.
In hard-water homes, a water softener upstream can help reduce scaling on the RO membrane.
Maintenance
Pre-filters are typically replaced every 6–12 months and membranes every 2–3 years, but your water and usage set the real schedule. Overdue filters are the most common reason an RO system tastes off or slows down.
When to Call a Professional
Call us for a new installation, to replace an older system, to add a fridge connection, or when an existing system leaks or stops producing water. Small leaks under a sink can damage cabinets and flooring over time, so they are worth addressing early.
Areas We Serve
We install and service these systems in Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, and communities throughout Palm Beach County, plus nearby areas of Broward County.
